Nisekoi:

Despite having seemingly quelled the war between their respective gangs, Raku Ichijou and Chitoge Kirisaki still carry on with their fake relationship. Eventually, as Chitoge's perception of Raku slowly changes, she even begins to see him as a little charming.

Chitoge struggles to come to terms with her newfound feelings for Raku, as a new girl joins the slew of Raku's admirers and the competition among those vying for the yakuza heir's attention grows even fiercer. And amidst all this, Raku's search for his first love and the contents of the mysterious sealed locket continues in Nisekoi:, which picks up where the first season left off.

Nisekoi is the most “harem anime” ever. Other than the really ecchi troupes, you can find 90% of all shounen romance troupes in this show. They have just about every stock romance you can have other than incest, and the characters develop in the most expected way possible. Despite that, this anime isn’t actually that bad. Despite being predictable and including all the cliche, they somehow do it in a way that is entertaining and enjoyable. Onodera and Chitoge are developed just enough for me to care about them, and Ichijou Raku is an actual decent protagonist that I ... liked for like the first time ever in any harem anime I have watched. It is really stupid at points with super unrealistic situations, but that helps some of the humor come through as it reminds you that this show isn’t meant to be serious. The biggest problem I had was how slowly the plot progressed, especially in the second season. Not only does the locket never do anything when it should, but they also spend too much time on filler-like things and not character development. The plot is also overblown with too many side characters that all need to have “their half an episode” that ensures nothing happens. Despite this, there are some pretty good parts, and even the less entertaining parts hit the entertainment minimum.

Mixed Feelings

I don't know what to say exactly season 1st was a treat but 2nd season dissapointed a lot .
Interactions b/w characters turned into a awkward comedy which i usally dislike . Cringe and confysuing comedy is good for a while but if it continues whole season it's not worth it . Author really ruined a good genric comedy into a donekey ass .
If you watching with hopes like it will be a banger same like season 1st then , sorry to say you will be dissapointed 90% ( 10 % still like this and recommend ) .
In my opinion you should avoid watching this ... season atleast you won't curse nisekoi . Sometimes whole show get hates because of some bad eps or a bad sequeal and i have mix feelings so, it's up to you wheather to watch or not .

[Not marked as spoiler since nothing is explicitly revealed, but I do complain about the ending and the general vague direction of the series which could maybe be taken as a spoiler, so read at your own discretion]

The first season was pretty good, nothing special but it was a good watch. There were issues with lack of balanced character development and the plot felt like it was just staying stagnant, but I could for the most part overlook those issues given that the comedy was decent and it was nonetheless fun to watch. And besides, there was a second season, surely they would tie ... up the stagnant plot and bring it all to a fitting end, right?

Nope. Nuh uh. Nooo.

The plot in the second season isn't just stagnant, its practically non existent. Nothing happens, and I mean that literally; characters aren't further developed in any meaningful way if at all, the driving overarching plot established in the first season is just seemingly ditched without it ever even reaching a conclusion, the comedy (which was the whole reason I could overlook the issues of the first season) was heavily watered down and wasn't even really funny anymore, AND! to top it all off, the ending didn't tie up a single thing, not one, it was just like "oh well we are outa episodes lets call it a day". Nothing resolved, nothing meaningfully developed, nothing.

This is a gripe with the series as a whole, not just the second season, but how incompetent of a writer can you be? I can usually boil it down to just not being my cup of tea and id be able to at least understand why others would enjoy it, but this series legitimately just doesn't do anything. First you establish a cliché but nonetheless intriguing premise, then you introduce more "love interests", then you kind of, but not really, develop the premise a bit more so it applies to most of the love interests, which in turn complicates it more and makes you want to learn the truth, AND THEN, you ditch that entire premise and treat it like it never even existed without ever even giving the slightest possible answer and treat most of the love interests as mere background characters, and to top it all off you just don't even bother with the two main love interests and instead just seemingly give up and end it without any real conclusion.

Honestly, its just annoying. The first season is decent so I do recommend it. However, the series as a whole? I can't in good faith recommend this.
