Na época em que foi lançado, acredito que cumpriu muito bem esse papel. Depois de um tempo sem novidades relevantes da franquia, ver que Mahoutsukai no Yome ganharia uma continuação foi algo bastante empolgante para quem acompanhava a série. Além disso, essa prévia já mostrava que a produção continuava caprichada, especialmente na parte visual.

A animação é bonita, a direção mantém o clima mágico característico da franquia e a atmosfera continua encantadora. Mesmo sendo um material promocional, é possível perceber o cuidado em preservar toda a identidade da obra, tanto na ambientação quanto na trilha sonora e no design dos personagens. Isso acaba transmitindo confiança de que a nova temporada manteria o mesmo nível de qualidade das anteriores.

Outro ponto positivo é que a prévia consegue instigar a curiosidade sem revelar demais. Ela apresenta o novo cenário e dá pequenas pistas sobre o que será desenvolvido na sequência, mas evita entregar acontecimentos importantes da história. Ainda assim, considero interessante vê-lo antes do anime principal, justamente para experimentar a mesma introdução que os fãs tiveram quando a continuação ainda era apenas uma promessa.

No geral, é um conteúdo curto, bonito e bem produzido, que cumpre sua função de divulgação de maneira eficiente. Não acrescenta grandes informações ao enredo, mas consegue transmitir perfeitamente o tom da nova fase da obra e aumentar a vontade de continuar acompanhando a jornada de Chise e Elias.

Como material promocional, funciona muito bem. Como episódio independente, não oferece muito além disso.

This is a short three minute ONA for The Ancient Magus' Bride. The ONA provides a sneak peak of what to expect from the anime after the first season. It does so in the same style as the main anime with pretty good animation, good music and a nice amount of fairytale mystery.

A problem with this ONA is that it only seems to be available in Japanese, however during the entire ONA there's only four sentences spoken by the characters with the rest of the ONA having background music instead. The translation of the four sentences can be found in the episode discussion on ... MAL so the language barrier is pretty low.

Overall this is a pretty neat teaser/trailer for what to expect from the anime moving forward. You can watch it if you're curious but since the animation and sound are both pretty good you can also just consider it extra content for the anime.
