Iwamoto-senpai no Suisen

I see that there are no reviews for this anime yet, so I’m taking the first step for anyone who might be curious about it.

To start, I want to make it clear that this anime has practically zero BL content—despite what some people may be claiming. I assume the confusion comes from a few scenes with "pretty boys" in an all-male school setting which further feels like it is indicating some sort of homosexual vibes. Trust me, there is no male to male chemistry here that should cause massive concerns! And yes, due to the type of setting, this also naturally means very few female ... characters appear but it is not as if they are non-existent!

That said, I’m genuinely surprised and a bit concerned that the rating is lower than I expected.

Now, from what I’ve watched so far, there’s really nothing to dislike about this series. Why?
First, the storyline: it follows a teenage boy with supernatural abilities who travels around the country investigating paranormal activities, which have caught the attention of the higher-ups at his school. Most of the cases he takes on are caused by powers similar to his own—originating from other humans. Each episode essentially presents a new case, some of which get resolved, while others remain ongoing.
I for one, have enjoyed each episode, embracing what and how each mystery unfolds.

If I can say one thing, it would be how crazy these teenagers looks like adults, and they're not even 18 yet I think!

Anyways, I hope this gives a rough idea as to what to expect when you watch this series! It is pleasant, not too intense and should keep hold of your interest each episode.

His will be a very short review. Mostly because I don't want to spend more time on this anime than I already have.

I really liked the premise. I liked the first episode. The artstyle I'd say it's better than a lot of the anime out there.

However... When I started the 4th episode I realized I really didn't want to watch it. I can't remember one female character that has mattered in the first three episodes. None...

And you may think: "well it's supposed to be an all boy school," but the amount of time they spend at school is not enough for that to be ... a valid excuse. The MC is always out visiting towns. There is no excuse for the lack of female characters except, the author of the story just didn't care to have them there.

The other reason I'm dropping the show is that I don't like any of the supporting characters so far other than the first guy he recommends. While the MC's stoic personality is not enough to carry the show. At least, not for me.
