Synopsis

The outgoing and athletic Ran, mellow and artistic Miki, and sweet and motherly Su are more than just Amu Hinamori's "Guardian Characters." They keep themselves busy trying to understand human concepts, from the changing seasons to forging friendships with the other Guardian Characters. Shugo Chara-chan! explores the not-so-mundane life of the trio when they are not fighting off the Easter Corporation with their human partners!

Shugo Chara-chan! is one of the more interesting sequel/spinoff merchandise out there, and that's not just because it's extremely hard to find (which it is, unfortunately); it's because of the fact that unlike most magical girl spinoff media (for instance, one may think of Nanoha's ViVid), you typically imagine it centered around a human. Shugo Chara-chan! centers its story on the Charas. And while they did have a very large part in the series proper, I think a series built around just them has potential, if nothing else, and this manga side series gestures toward the possibilities laid out within that framing.
