Despite multiple volumes already being out, I feel that it's might be more complex concept so I'd like to hold off my judgment for now, though so far it definitely seems like something that is uplifting quality of the story. I feel like the pacing is comparable to Jojolion personally.

The stands are interesting, instead of hyper specific stuff including some mundane almost non-stand abilities like flexing muscles. I wonder how the protagonist's stand will develop and it's interesting that it barely had any spotlight so far.

Yani Neko is hilarious and vibes. And yeah, not only is originalanime rarer, even rarer is one that is entertaining to watch. In general Summer 2026 is the best season in a long time. World is Dancing is a sleeper hit btw, might be top 2 of the season next to the new GITS.

Well, the allegory of people with powers/racism is pretty classic at this point so nothing new there, but I like how the fire is actually alien and how the protagonist aren't some child of destiny chosen ones, but just happened to be at the right place right time. But the best quality here is the spectacle, and Trigger does that so well.

And I understand how people are saying it's mash-up of KLK and TTGL, but I wouldn't even say that as a bad thing, rather it seems to me that Promare is a gift from Trigger to their fans, retracking their successful aspects and adding some new.

Tbh, ReZero as a whole has been very conflicting and frustrating for me, and unfortunately most of it is on the negative side of things. It’s kinda reminiscent of the issue I had with Denji from CSM, for example. This arc which I read in the LN I quite disliked in particular, though, at least at the time. I’m not at all a fan of the amnesia trope, and regardless of all the claims that this is the PEAK story arc. I’ve only read up to that point so I don’t have much comment about whether or not there’s any better cases with future arcs yet. I won’t spoil anything, but I also disliked the plot twist with the “amnesia”, too, because 1. I feel like Tappei is too obsessed prioritizing his series to be a deconstruction of Isekai rather than telling a progressive story. As much as I can see the value of “resetting Subaru on a clean slate”, it makes the ensuing conflict all the more redundant and even pedantic. This is especially frustrating considering he’s right at a goal line where he could potentially have the answer for many of the series’ biggest mysteries (SPOILERS: he doesn’t get to directly address any of them by the end of the arc).

Ahhh Agents of the Four Seasons. There’s something about it that feels very cathartic and nuanced that I really can’t help but love almost everything about it especially the characters. All these “melodrama slop” accusations going around about this series feels rather silly, tbh, as I can’t really understand the need for inflated slander for a series whose dramatic beats aren’t redundant as they claim, but have meaning and significance for each and every point in the story, even if it is admittedly a bit too heavy handed and oddly paced at times (it’s by the Violet Evergarden author, after all).

Looks like I answered too late cause the season finale of WHA aired today, but it’ll wrap up vol 4 iirc. S2 should be announced within a week once JP broadcast catches up. Yes, the adaptation has been nothing short of impressive by all means. While Shirahama’s art is hard to match, the anime was able to really stand out on its own extremely well. It will of course have its share of obnoxiously stubborn detractors like Frieren did, though, to which I recommend you do your best to avoid interacting with such folks.

What you said about Smoking Behind the Supermarket, yea pretty much it and then some. The dynamic between Sasaki and Yamada is extremely lovable and has a great expression on how one can make unexpected connections and be more open emotionally via a method of psychological escapism, something like how Kamiina Botan is, albeit with different character archetypes and setups.

Hmm, now that you mention it yes, it is similar to Fujimoto's style.

Many prison movies just feel really cliché to me, and Shawnshank was no exception. I felt like I was watching a movie I've already seen despite seeing it for the first time. I wouldn't even say it's similar to Forest Gump.

Ginga Tetsudou 999 is awesome, one of the best aged 70's/early 80's anime I've seen that's for sure. Really well done episodic storytelling, might be my favourite of Leiji's works. Also what surprised me is how many, many aesthetic stills it has, despite its age and probably budget it's really beautiful (though the bluray remaster is helping there).

As you might guess with how much time I spent on anime and manga, I haven't seen that much recent regular movies, and many of them are missing from my IMDb lists too.

BEMI. It's some random cheapest off-brand e-book. It works from what it's supposed to do any doesn't bother you with any storefront.

Well, I usually have either e-book reader itself or at lest plenty of epubs on my phone on me, so I manage to read in those "empty" moments of life, like waiting at the bus stop or so on. I can also read while walking, so I often read at the way to do the weekly shopping etc.

I'm fairly sure majority of those criticism just didn't like characters dying, but I think in this case it was executed in a perfectly fitting way, especially in the context of this story. For once, child soldiers aren't unbeatable prodigies that can get away with everything, and I think that highlights the weight of their struggle.

Aiyoku no Eustia was a pretty solid VN imho. The OST is really good, the storybuilding and characters are also really nice for the most part, even if this is not the most unique thing ever. However, I found the respective character route endings to be like...weightless, to where I genuinely feel next to nothing. The main reason is that when you actively work towards one route, the characters start behaving way too differently for the sake of a easy happy ending every time. I understand that's a norm in most VNs hence why I've had my big grievances with them in general nowadays. There's also a lot of contrivances with how conflict and/or drama involving the characters were handled (especially for Fione in particular as well for the true ending)...I can't tell you how many times that had me quite annoyed. It's not by any means a terrible experience, but half the time it was quite frustrating.

I think the part that made me to decide to give it 10/10 was how they handled Oguri Cap as a character in the latter parts of the manga, particularly when it came down to handling the undefeatable physical and mental wall that is going past one's prime.

Well, given that /strange fake is one of my favourite Fate pieces and that since I've picked it up over ten years ago I never even tought it would get an adaptation given how chaotic and complex it is, just it existing made me happy, and the animation direction and art quality is amazing (it's also one of the surpisingly few anime that I would say actually has distinct 202's style instead of being essentially undistinguishable from late 2010's).

Yes, unfortunately stuff had to be cut out, so I would consider it more a fanservice for novel fans than an adaptation you can enjoy on it's own, which is completely fair to percieve as a big flaw.

Still, it's packed with references to nasuverse and through it to so many mythologies and such, giving it a complexity rarely seen for action packed anime, without overdoing it with blocks of texts explanations. It's more like "Oh if you want to know why this mythical character has beef with this other mythical character, familiarize yourself with the original mythology it's based on", which I think is a respectable solution. And you are absolutely correct about the action being more readable when animated.

I'm really just a biased fanboy here for this specific piece. (Of course, I would not defend an actually bad adaptation)

i also have a lot of faith the season will come out brilliantly since even though the main arc hasn't really started yet, the episodes so far have left a very good impression on everyone. they are currently cutting some stuff and speeding through this current volume but it seems like they're trying to put more time in the later volumes in order for it all to fit the current 19 episode model they have, which i suppose its fine. its also a light novel adaption so its bound to be missing a lot but compared to previous seasons they're doing great. i reckon in a few more episodes arc 6's unique identity will be seen on full display

i wrote a review on the new season that briefly gave my thoughts but yeah i think they're doing an amazing job adapting arc 6. its still my favorite arc since i think it does an amazing job capturing all the elements that make up re:zero thus far. like if we were to judge seasons 1 - 3 of re:zero, they all try to doing different things ranging from thrilling moments, world building, character development & growth. arc 6 sort of feels like a manifestation of all those things in a very consistent and neatly done package, while still elevating all those previously mentioned that we've never seen before. ive never read the visual novel but i've also seen a lot of people compare arc 6's writing with umineko, which i always assumed is supposed to be a compliment since ive only heard good things about it but im not really sure.

I like most aspects of it really. The whole dark fantasy setting is cool (and surprisingly underused in visual novels), it has interesting characters that also feel authentic for the setting, and the story is quite good too. It's just a very complete package I think, the whole vibe around it is captivating and well made.

Well for Albatross, it’s complicated. I was just lucky enough to find a MTL patch that wasn’t listed on the site (unfortunately the link to that is broken now, perhaps it was limited or got taken down for some reason). Then again, the full voice acting is quite a lifesaver since I can understand a good number of familiar spoken phrases.
Yea I’m waiting for official translations for both Sakura no Uta and Sakura no Toki.

No I don’t play on JP server, but I had tried it before and ended up more of a hassle. However, I often end up getting to know story content ahead of time because of YouTube replay videos.

No I haven’t tried Endfield yet cause I’ve heard mixed reception about the gacha system so far.
