"If loving you is a crime, then I’ll gladly be a criminal." - Juliet Persia.

Story: 10/10

THIS SHIT SO PEAK BRUH. This story is a spinoff of Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare (unless you have been living under a rock).
The story starts off by introducing the school, with two factions - the White Cats and Black Dogs. They do not live in harmony, and will fight when the chance persists. However, the leader of the Black Dogs, Romio Inuzuka, is secretly in love with the White Cats leader, Juliet Persia. Through a series of events in the school, when Romio protected Juliet against his own

kind, Juliet was bewildered by his actions, and asked him to go to the fountain to duke it out. It was there where Romio started locking in and confessed his feelings to her. Juliet, even more perplexed than before, agreed to date him. Hence began the ‘forbidden love’ story.
Throughout the story, Romio and Juliet faced off against many issues in their life. For example, Romio faced the wrath of Princess Char, while Juliet faced off against Hasuki. However, each thing resolved peacefully at the end. However, some suspicions from people has already creeped up to Romio and Juliet. Romio and Juliet both tried their very best… at the end of the story, they were lovebirds, hoping one day to resolve the conflict between both schools.
Due to their complicated relationship at school, they created lots of funny scenes especially with Romio's constant warm-heart. Juliet at the start didn't really vibe with Romio but she eventually opened up to him.

Inuzuka as the MC is certainly a funny pick, but I am not complaining. Even though he has some goofy ahh scenes, but most of the time when he has to be serious, he would. That’s why bro rizzed up most of the female cast LMAO. Persia is alright I guess, she is a top-tier waifu. She lowkey has a nice personality, and I can see why people would like her.
Now to the supporting characters, we talk about the Black Doggies first. Hasuki is a great character. I got a fun fact from Reddit that Hasuki is a changed name from ‘Husky’ - the dog. Since she is a Black Doggies member, it makes sense I guess. She’s really pretty and nice too. However, it is a shame that she had no bravery to confess to the one she loved, or otherwise the story would be called ‘Boarding School Hasuki’. LMAO. Wang Kochou and Teria, the twins helping out Romio, are quite cute (officer, arrest this man, they are only 14!!). Kohitsuji, the horny teenager, is lowkey a bad character. I mean, he is just a supporting cast, but bro did NOT have to be that horny to stand out lol. Maru is fine, at first he was a bit of an asshole, but afterwards he redeemed himself… compared to a princess who didn’t redeem herself at all.
Princess Char is at first annoying, and still annoying at the end of the story, even with some justification of her actions. She still treated people like slaves, and I feel like some of the kinkshamers will like it, but personally I don’t like it. Skott is a troller to be honest with you. He is the #2 fanboy of Juliet (right after Romio of course). He is funny, and made me laugh a number of times trying to understand what the hell is happening to bro.

Portrayal: 9/10

Surprisingly, the anime has great animation, especially the fighting scenes where Romio and Juliet sparred. They actually put in a lot more effort than I thought. For a romance anime, I am surprised.
The OP is criminally underrated. I really liked it. Same for the ED. It has been stuck on my head for several days now.

Enjoyment: 10/10

I was laughing most of the time, as the show has comedy aspects while retaining most of the important romance which will leave a deep mark within your heart. The interactions of Romio with Juliet is what I aspire to be. The rest of the cast truly have something going for them, as they are explained in depth so I understand their characters.

Final Verdict: 9.5/10
(rounded up to 10/10)

This is my Top 5 favourites of all time, actually it is my favourite series.
I know I am quite late to the anime but this anime really deserves a S2. However, I don't think it would get one (considering this anime is made in 2018 and I am writing this at 2025). However, I will be reading the manga (which I heard was peak). They need to get married ASAP bruh.
